Investigating an Accessible Home Environment for Visually Impaired Individuals with Coordinating Clothing
Juan Valera & Si Jung Kim
This research is about investigating an accessible supportive smart home environment for individuals with SVIs or blindness to help them communicate with their surroundings using non-visual stimulation. Individuals with SVIs or blindness have a high dependency in choosing clothing due to their vision loss and this is much more difficult if they have to consider weather and special occasions. This research will show how the three components, human, technology, and environment, should be considered and integrated explicitly in the context of human-computer interaction and digital media in order to create seamless interactions in coordinating clothing.
